I have recently finished watching The iDOLM@STER. This is the first idol-themed anime I have ever watched completely. At first, I thought this anime is just full of idol things like music, dance, studio, passion, and glimmering stage. Indeed it is true, but beyond my expectation this anime could make me cry. It was when I watched episode 20 of this anime.
This episode focuses on the character Chihaya Kisaragi. The president of 961 PRO spreads rumor about her dark past where her brother died and her parents divorced. Her brother was the only reason for her to keep singing.

This causes her to suffer a trauma. She loses her ability to sing.

Her idol friends try to restore her from the deep mental trauma by writing a song lyric and giving her brother's sketchbook to her.

"I wonder if your brother didn't necessarily just want to hear you sing, but if he just wanted to see you smile. A girl who loves to sing, and when she sings, she smiles. Don't you think that's the big sister he loved?"

Chihaya then arrives on time before the show start. When she is about to sing, her voice doesn’t come out. This makes her frustrated.

At that time, her whole idol friends run into the stage singing a song in her place.

Seeing what her friends have done to her, Chihaya's heart is touched. She then sees her past self invites her to sing.

With all of her heart, Chihaya sings and her voice finally comes out. Her friends are very happy.

After she has finished, she sees her past self and her brother waving their hand at her.
